พิพิธภัณฑ์คติชนวิทยา
ตั้งอยู่ที่สถาบันทักษิณคดีศึกษา
ตำบลเกาะยอ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสงขลา เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์พื้นบ้านที่จัดแสดงข้อมูล
เกี่ยวกับวิถีชีวิตของชาวใต้และขนบนิยมในท้องถิ่นซึ่งมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะ ตลอดจนประวัติศาสตร์โบราณคดี
และศิลปหัตถกรรมอันเป็นมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่แสดงให้เห็นภูมิปัญญาของกลุ่มชนซึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย
The
Thaksin Folklore Museum of the Institute
for Southern Thai Studies, Tambon Koh Yoh, Muang District, Songkhla Province
is a folk museum created to reflect the way of life of the Southern Thai
people, Their unique customs, their history and archeology, and their
handiworks. It provides a cultural heritage demonstrating the
wisdom of the peoples who inhabit the Southern Thai region.
พิพิธภัณฑ์คติชนวิทยาเริ่มเปิดเป็นทางการ
เมื่อวันที่ 22 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2534 โดยสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี
เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงเปิดอาคารกลุ่มบ้านหลังคาจั่ว อาคารกลุ่มบ้านหลังคาปั้นหยา
อาคารกลุ่มบ้านหลังคาบลานอ ต่อมาเมื่อวันที่ 6 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2539 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯให้สมเด็จพระบรมโอสาธิราชสยามบรมราชกุมารพระราชดำเนินแทนพระองค์ทรงเปิดอาคารนวมภูมินทร์
On
September 22nd 1991, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakree Sirindhorn
officially opened the Folklore Museum which, at that time, consisted of
3 groupings of houses reflecting Southern Thai architectural roof styles:
the Jua-roof, the Panya-roof and the Blanoh-roof styles. Then,
on September 6th 1996, on behalf of His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej,
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn graciously officiated
at the opening of the Nawamabhumin Building.
การจัดพิพิธภัณฑ์คติชนวิทยา
ใช้วัตถุของจริงประมาณ 49,000 ชิ้น นอกจากนี้ยังมี หุ่นจำลอง เสียง ภาพ วิดีทัศน์และมัลติมีเดีย
( Multimedia ) แสดงประกอบเนื้อหา เป็นแบบนิทรรศการถาวร ในอาคาร 4 กลุ่มดังกล่าวมาแล้วคิดเป็นเนื้อที่ประมาณ
3,300 ตารางเมตร ซึ่งจัดแสดงเรื่องราวทางทักษิณคดีศึกษาโดยจัดแบ่งเป็นห้อง
The
Folklore Museum exhibits more than 49,000 artifacts in addition to various
models, a sound collection, a visual collection, videos, and multi-media
exhibitions in the four buildings. The exhibits occupy an area
of 3,300 square metres and are arranged by topics in rooms.
